Life Lately 01
This weekend was more relaxing than usual as I wrapped up Year 1 of my PhD, finishing course work and final assignments earlier this week. Starting next week I'll be going into the office every day (where I write, edit, and secure contributors for a publication) to make up for putting in less hours the past two weeks as I tackled what felt like a million papers. Then, I'll be settling into my more predictable summer schedule. I'll divide my time as follows: one-third work; one-third Research Assistant work for my PhD supervisor; one-third studying for my comprehensive exams.
Fortunately, at this point, studying for comps isn't so pressing for me, since I'll be taking two terms (8 months) off for maternity leave before I actually write them. However, I hope preparing with the girls in my cohort will be beneficial and will allow me to make notes that will jog my memory when it's really time to get down to business and study more seriously next summer.
So, it'll be a busy but, happily, flexible, summer. In between my various work tasks I hope to tackle the nursery and do some much needed organizing before baby arrives in August!
Here are some non-work related items that caught my attention recently.
