My husband, Adam, and I are expecting our first baby - a boy! - this summer, in August 2017. As my pregnancy progresses and I do my best to prepare for motherhood, I've been jotting down thoughts and notes to myself on post-its placed haphazardly in notebooks throughout the house or saved in my iPhone. They range from emotional hopes and fears for my son, thoughts on the kind of mother I hope to be, and more practical items like parenting tips I've read.
Now, I've decided to catalogue these thoughts from here on out on this little corner of the Internet.
So, why the name Chevy and Co.? Well, a few months before getting engaged, Adam and I brought home our "first born," an adorable Golden Retriever named Chevy. While we always knew marriage was in the cards, Chevy brought us so much closer together and really made us a family as we did our best to care for our new little ball of fluff.
Fast-forward nearly two years. Adam and I have been married for six months, Chevy is still the centre of our world, but we hope he's good at sharing because we're thrilled to welcome our baby boy in a few short months.
So, as we grow our family, I'll be using this space as a journal of sorts - to document the beautiful inspiring, and mundane moments in our life, for our family and close friends to keep up with our adventures, and, as a platform to store useful life hacks and motherhood tips. If anyone else cares to follow along, I hope Chevy and Co. is a place you can visit to relate to and share in the joy, chaos, hardship, and love that is everyday, real life. And, it only made sense to have Chevy as the glue holding everything together, because that's how everything started.
